May 31 is the date Michael Johnson and Donovan Bailey, Olympic champions and world record holders in different sprints, will meet in the richest race in history, a $2 million, 150-meter sprint to decide “the world’s fastest man.” The race site hasn’t been determined, but it will probably be the Skydome in Toronto.

Jana Novotna will play for her third tournament title in two months after beating Indonesia’s Yayuk Basuki 6-3, 6-1 in the semifinals at the Advanta Championships in Villanova, Pa. Novotna will face top-seeded Steffi Graf of Germany, who defeated Californian Marianne Werdel Witmeyer 6-2, 7-5.
