Weber State Sanctioned

Compiled From Wire Services

The NCAA placed the Weber State men’s basketball program on probation for four years and stripped the Big Sky Conference school of two scholarships next year for violations. Head coach Ron Abegglen has been also been barred from recruiting off campus until next August.

The NCAA has notified the University of Arkansas of seven alleged violations in the men’s basketball program, including an accusation that it has operated without appropriate institutional control.

The NCAA has ordered Oregon starting center Renae Fegent to sit out the first four games of the season because she played for a semi-professional team in Australia.

Another Oregon player, sophomore center Natasha O’Brien, must sit out this season, forfeit a year of eligibility and repay a $3,000 stipend she received for living expenses while participating in the Australian league.
