Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: After I read about one of your readers separating parts of a heavy book so that she could enjoy reading without pain in her hands, I decided to pass on to you my recently discovered solution to that problem.

I use my inexpensive little lap desk to hold the book. The loose filling in the back of the desk allows it to be shifted to any angle for comfortable reading. I even use it when I read in bed. - Billie Marks, Columbia, S.C.

Dear Heloise: Would you please write about getting scuff marks off no-wax linoleum flooring? - Kate Coaper, Gary, Ind.

You probably won’t believe this, but a plain old dry paper towel will wipe those black marks right off, instantly. Try it! - Heloise
