Hingis, Huber Make Finals

Sixteen-year-old Martina Hingis of Switzerland moved into the finals of the Porsche Grand Prix in Filerstadt, Germany, by defeating Olympic champion Lindsay Davenport 3-6, 6-2, 6-3. She will face Germany’s Anke Huber, a 6-1, 6-1 semifinal winner over Austria’s Judith Wiesner, in today’s final.

Britain Greg Rusedski defeated No. 4 seed Byron Black of Zimbabwe in straight sets to advance to the finals of the Beijing Open and earn a shot at Martin Damm of the Czech Republic in today’s title match.

Rusedski needed just 54 minutes to beat Black 6-2, 6-2. Damm, who upset world No. 2 Michael Chang earlier in the week, defeated Thomas Johansson of Sweden 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 6-3.
