The Florida Panthers remain undefeated with an NHL-best record of 6-0-3.

Rookie Per Gustafsson continued to shine for Florida with a goal and two assists as the Panthers beat the New York Rangers 6-4 in a wild shootout Friday.

In Friday’s other game, backup goaltenders Jimmy Waite of Chicago, recalled from Indianapolis earlier in the day, and Kevin Hodson of Detroit sparkled in their first starts of the season as the Blackhawks and Red Wings skated to a 2-2 tie.
