Brymile Continues Torrid Pace

Brymile of Spokane won two games Saturday to remain undefeated in the Major Modified Fastpitch Softball National Tournament at Stevens Point, Wis.

Brymile defeated Plymouth, Minn., 17-4 behind four hits and five RBIs from Barry Shook and four RBIs by Mark Arland.

Also, Brymile defeated D’Onofrio’s from Brooklyn, N.Y., 8-1.

Brymile’s Wade Liberty pitched seven innings, allowing only one run. His ERA in two tournament games is 0.58.

Dave Rypien hit two solo home runs for Brymile.

Brymile, which has outscored its opponents 35-5 in three games, will play two games today.

Chiefs tickets to go on sale

Tickets for the Spokane Chiefs 36 regular-season Western Hockey League games go on sale Tuesday.

The Chiefs host the Tri-City Americans in their Arena opener on Sept. 28.

Season tickets and other ticket packages can be picked up beginning Friday morning at the Chiefs offices in the Arena, director of business operations Don Jamieson said.

College soccer

Simeon Enemuo staked Gonzaga to an early lead and the Bulldogs went on to tie UC Santa Barbara 1-1 in a West Coast Conference soccer match at Santa Barbara, Calif.

Enemuo’s score on a penalty kick came 15 minutes, 30 seconds in the match and the lead held until Brian Mackerer scored for the Gauchos at the 44:50 mark.
