Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: I had lost so much time searching for my keys in my purse that I took drastic measures.

I bought a large split-ring and hooked it through my key ring and through a very large fluorescent orange (potato-chip-type) bag clip. Not only can I find my keys, but my outgoing mail stays in the clip until I reach the post office. - Sandra Weinhardt, Bluffton, Ind.

Dear Heloise: I have always had trouble trying to get roots started for new plants from the mother plants.

One day after trying, I thought of some plastic clips from folded new clothing. I had saved them in case I needed them. I laid the stem of the plant I wanted to start on a bed of dirt in a flowerpot and stuck one or two of these clips over the stem to hold it in place. Worked like a charm! - Beverlyann Kluger, Bellaire, Texas
