Yakima Meadows Gets Ok

Yakima Meadows Inc., a corporation formed by the Central Washington Fair Assn., has been approved to operate parimutuel horse racing by the Washington Horse Racing Commission. The racing Commission issued the approval after several months of scrutiny of the Yakima Meadows license application, including public hearings in Seattle and Yakima.

Yakima Meadows will be granted winter racing dates for 1997-98. The track’s withdrawal from last winter’s season played a role in bringing the first winter racing season to Spokane’s Playfair Race Course.
