Cougs Get ‘Winning Streak’ To Two Games
Two and counting.
After winning just two of its first 28 baseball games, Washington State has put together back-to-back triumphs, Monday besting Hawaii-Hilo 5-4 at Bailey Field in Pullman.
Jesse Hoorelbeke hit a pair of home runs against the Vulcans as the Cougars improved to 4-26.
The Vulcans (15-22-1) stick around for a 3 p.m. game today to complete a two-game series.
Hoorelbeke’s first home run led off the second and staked WSU to a 1-0 lead. His second ignited a three-run sixth and produced a 3-3 tie.
Ole Vigeland scored what proved to be the winning run in the sixth when he singled, stole second and came home on a throwing error.
