Danish Police Raid Hells Angels Meeting

Compiled From Wire Services

Heavily armed police raided a Hells Angels gathering where leaders were believed to be plotting strategy in a Nordic biker war, newspapers said Thursday.

Police arrested one biker, but let another 33 go after Wednesday’s raid on a restaurant near the city of Aarhus, 120 miles northwest of Copenhagen.

The Hells Angels and other biker gangs in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland have been feuding for three years. The biker war has killed 10 people and injured about 60.

The raid was prompted by suspicions that the Hells Angels were plotting revenge attacks on their blood rivals, the Bandidos, the Berlingske Tidende newspaper said.

The gangs are offshoots of the Oakland, Calif.-based Hells Angels and the Houston-based Bandidos.
