Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: When someone I know passes away I always get the clippings out of the paper and also at the funeral home. I make a scrapbook and when someone says John passed away in 1944, I pull out my scrapbook and say, no, John passed away in 1945. It’s neat. I’ve been doing this for over 40 years. - A Hillbilly Friend, Tennessee

I think that is a great idea, especially for anyone studying genealogy. If the clippings are about family members, other members would find it interesting to look all the way back to read about their relatives. -Heloise

Dear Heloise: I just read a hint from one of your readers about making an old door into a picnic table.

A few years ago my father did the same thing, but instead of using a tablecloth or finishing the top, he took some leftover kitchen floor tiles and pasted them on top. Talk about eating off the floor! -Laraine A. Grimaldi, Parlin, N.J.

You said it! Glad you wrote. -Heloise
