Mobster’s Story Comes To TV

New York Daily News

The story of mob hit man Salvatore (Sammy Bull) Gravano is coming to the small screen.

NBC said it would produce a twohour movie to air on the network next season about the mobster’s exploits. The film, a spokesman said, will use the voluminous reporting of New York’s WNBC correspondent John Miller as source material.

Gravano’s turncoat testimony was responsible for bringing down reputed mob boss John Gotti and several other associates. He also lays claim to killing 19 people.

“It is the story of the most powerful mobster of our day from the perspective of the people who orchestrated his demise,” Lindy DeKoven, an NBC executive vice president, said in a statement.

Miller, a former New York Police Department spokesman, has covered Gotti, Gravano and organized crime extensively during his more than two decades as a Gotham reporter.

An NBC spokesman said Gravano will have nothing to do with the project.
