Workers Break Ground On Restroom For Park

From Staff And Wire Reports

It will be more than just a restroom.

Infant changing tables, swimmers’ benches and an outside shower will be part of the 900-square-foot facility at Post Falls’ Q’emiln Park. There will be a ground-breaking ceremony at 9:30 a.m. today at the park.

The building will replace one destroyed during a 1996 windstorm. Insurance didn’t cover the replacement cost, because a larger restroom was needed for the growing community, park officials said.

The Post Falls Lions are spearheading an effort to involve community organizations, businesses and individuals to complete the building, originally estimated to cost $84,000. The Post Falls Rotary, Idaho Veneer, Acme Concrete and contractor Gary Coe also are helping.

The facility is expected to meet the needs of the community until 2005, said Parks and Recreation Director David Fair. An area for a future concession stand will be roughed in. , DataTimes
