Lunch Offered For Welfare Reform Opinions

From Staff And Wire Reports

Six publicly funded agencies in Stevens and Pend Oreille counties are offering lunches in exchange for comments about welfare reform.

“We need your input to develop plans at the local level to deal with the changes,” the group said in an invitation to four community meetings next week.

The luncheon meetings, all from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., will be Monday at the Northwest Alloys Training Center in Addy; Tuesday at Northport City Hall; Wednesday at Kettle Falls High School; and Thursday at the Cutter Theatre in Metaline Falls.

Sponsors are the Colville School District, Community Colleges of Spokane, state departments of Social and Health Services and Employment Security, Northeast Tri-County Health District, Northeast Washington Rural Resources Development Association, and the WSU Cooperative Extension/Stevens County Learning Center.
