Lindeblad Bests Rohde In Pro-Am
Gary Lindeblad took advantage of Mark Rohde’s stumble on the back side to win the Athletic Round Table Pro-Am series stop at Avondale Golf Course on Monday.
Rohde, playing out of Liberty Lake, fashioned a 33 on the front side for a two-stroke advantage over Lindeblad and a couple of others at the turn.
But on the back side, Rohde needed 37 shots while Lindeblad, the Indian Canyon pro, came in with a 34 for a 3-under-par 69 and one-shot margin over Rohde.
Four others were at 1-under 71 - Dave Christenson, Indian Canyon; Craig Schuh, Deer Park; Jerry Zink, The Fairways; and Tim Morton, Avondale.
Pro Dan Schmarr of Liberty Lake scored a hole-in-one on the 104-yard fifth hole using a 52-degree wedge.
Pete Caruso of Indian Canyon and Dick Bingham of Spokane Country Club led the amateur brigade with even-par 72s.
