Everything You Wanted To Know About Woody

Compiled By Staff Writer Dan Web

Life is good for Soon-Yi Previn. Woody Allen has agreed to marry her.

Life is bad for Soon-Yi Previn. Woody Allen has agreed to marry her.

According to reports in the British tabloid press, Previn got Allen to agree to marriage after “badgering” him about it.

The bad news: Her “heart leaped with joy when he agreed - but sank when he listed all the conditions.”

Which include:

Live in her own apartment.

Visit him twice a week.

Sign a financial pre-nup.

And, finally, cut all ties with Mia Farrow (who, you’ll recall, is Previn’s former stepmother and Allen’s ex-lover).

Bear in mind that this is all mere tabloid fodder.

Loose talk

Zac Hanson, 12-year-old drummer of the pop trio Hanson, on meeting the Spice Girls (in Seventeen magazine): “They’re all very short.”

We’re pretty sure that she’ll have a super time

Teri Hatcher turns 33 today.

What, there aren’t any more American guys to… woo?

The same British press that reported on Soon-Yi Previn’s relationship with Woody Allen (see item to left) is carrying stories about Madonna buying a $6 million house in London. Word is that the 39-year-old singer wants to be near her beau, novelist Andy Bird, 27. “She was a lovely girl and she seemed to be very fond of our son,” said Kathleen Bird.

And he marries some of them more than once

Don Johnson is known for playing both sides against the middle - with his sobriety, his career, his marriages. That may explain his relationships with 70-something socialite Denise Hale and 18-year-old actress Jodi O’Keefe. “She’s not his girlfriend,” one of the 47-year-old actor’s handlers sniffed. “Don goes out with a variety of young ladies.”

Actually, we hear her dog ate it

Things just get worse for Paula Yates. Involved in a bitter court battle with ex-husband Bob Geldof, she’s getting grief counseling to help deal with the recent death of lover Michael Hutchence. Now she’s being sued by HarperCollins, which wants the $32,000 advance back for a book that Yates never delivered. Her claim: She lost the manuscript.

Maxwell’s silver hammer might come down on his head

British record promoter Pete Bennett is trying to sell a book that he claims will do a hatchet job on the recording industry. One tidbit: Bennett claims that the “true story” of the Beatle breakup had nothing at all to do with Yoko Ono.

Dad was a dope fiend and all we got was this stupid book

Former Three Dog Night singer Chuck Negron will offer his autobiography in September. Titled “Three Dog Nightmare,” it details his fall from pop stardom to heroin addiction. Five years straight, Negron says the book “is something I can give my three older children - some pride in what their father is doing.”
