Obituaries

Howard Campbell Kellogg

Service for Howard Campbell, 70, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the American Lutheran Church in Kellogg. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Kellogg. Shoshone Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Campbell, who was born in Wisconsin, died Tuesday.

He moved to the Silver Valley in 1947 and worked as a machinist for the Bunker Hill Co., retiring in 1981 after 33 years.

Mr. Campbell then worked for the Sunshine Mining Co., for three years.

He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church of Pinehurst and was a past member of the Kellogg Elks.

Mr. Campbell was a member of the United Steel Workers and the Bunker Hill 30-year Club.

He was also a musician.

Survivors include his wife, Betty; two sons, Bob Campbell of Kellogg and Mickey Campbell of Wisconsin; four daughters, Cherie Gravley and Jackie Ostoj, both of Osburn, Idaho, Ellen Pahl of Boise and Sally Weber of Wisconsin; a brother, Jerry Campbell of Wisconsin; three sisters, Mary Lou Reas, Wanda Pence and Marg Richardson, all of Wisconsin; 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Evert Davidson Coeur d’Alene

Memorial service for Evert W. Davidson, 75, will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene.

Mr. Davidson, who was born in Bonners Ferry, died Monday.

He attended the University of Idaho and served with the Army Air Corps in India and Burma during World War II.

Mr. Davidson later moved to Costa Rica and was involved in teaching modern farming, cultivation and irrigation techniques. He returned to North Idaho in the 1960s and founded a road construction company before retiring.

Mr. Davidson was a member of the Coeur d’Alene Duplicate Bridge Club.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Norma; a son, Charlie Kelson of Coeur d’Alene; a daughter, Robin Eiesland of Hayden Lake, Idaho; two brothers, Marion and Wally Davidson, both of Bonners Ferry; a sister, Edna Walter of Bonners Ferry; three grandchildren, Bethany, Don and Charlie; and one great-granddaughter.

Esther O’Donnell Bakersfield, Calif.

Vigil service for Esther Elizabeth O’Donnell, 101, will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rathdrum, Idaho. Burial will follow at Pinegrove Cemetery in Rathdrum.

Mrs. O’Donnell, a former Rathdrum resident, died Saturday.

She was born in Minnesota and moved to the Garwood, Idaho area as a child.

She made pies for the Hess Confectionery in Rathdrum during the 1940s and also managed Buck’s Cash Grocery from 1943 to 1946.

Mrs. O’Donnell was a member of the St. Stanislaus Altar Society, 20th Century Reading Circle and the Royal Neighbors of America.

She moved to California several years ago.

Her husband, Samuel, died in 1951.

Survivors include a son, Stuart O’Donnell of Woodinville, Wash.; a daughter, Patricia Verbeck of California; a stepdaughter, Ellen Edens of South Carolina; a sister, Elizabeth Hague of Graham, Wash.; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-granchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Elsie Richardville Spokane

Service for Elsie Richardville, 93, is set for 1 p.m. Friday at Riplinger Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.

Mrs. Richardville, who died Saturday, was born in Addy, Wash.

She worked at the W.W. Powell Match Factory for many years and also in the Tea Room of The Crescent department store.

Her husband, Joseph, died in 1987.

Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Spivy and Florence Havens, both of Spokane; two brothers, Carl Wegeleben of Chattaroy and Harry Wegeleben of Yakima; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

Joseph Good Spokane

Service and inurnment for Joseph M. Good, 74, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Good, who was born in Des Moines, Iowa, died Saturday.

He served in the Air Force and was a resident of Spokane for 18 years.

Mr. Good had worked for the civil service at a naval air station.

Survivors include a son, Fred Good of Sultan, Wash.; a daughter, Sue Pereira of Spokane; a brother, Don Good of Louisiana; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Eastern Washington Chapter.

Helen Olson Sandpoint

Visitation for Helen R. Olson, 79, will be from 3-5 p.m. today at Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint. Burial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Sandpoint. Burial will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Sandpoint.

Mrs. Olson, who was born in Sandpoint, died Tuesday.

She graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1936 and went on to receive a teaching certificate from the University of Idaho.

Mrs. Olson taught at Wrenco School near Sandpoint before teaching fourth grade for many years at Washington School.

She received an education degree from Eastern Washington University. She retired in 1978.

Mrs. Olson was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, the Bonner County Historical Society, Alpha Delta Kappa and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, Lloyd; a son, Richard Olson of Otis Orchards, Wash.; and two grandsons, Richard and Matthew.

Beatrice Covey Spokane

Graveside service for Beatrice S. Covey, a 67-year Spokane resident, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Riverside Memorial Park. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Covey, 88, died Sunday.

She was born in Fort Benton, Mont., and moved to Spokane in 1930.

Mrs. Covey graduated from Kinman Business College and worked for Powell Lumber Company for 10 years. She then worked for the Washington State Patrol for eight years.

Survivors include a son, James Covey of San Francisco; a daughter, Donna Herdman of Walnut Creek, Calif.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Robert Thomas Spokane

Service for Robert D. Thomas, 72, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Riplinger Funeral Home. Private burial will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.

Mr. Thomas, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Sunday.

He served in the Navy during World War II.

Mr. Thomas worked until his retirement as a custodian for Spokane School District 81.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Helen; and two sisters, Marguerite McCabe and Dorothy Lindsay, both of Spokane.

Mary Anne Northart Spokane

Funeral Mass for Mary Anne Northart, 85, will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Charles Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Northart, a homemaker born in Hoisington, Kan., died Saturday.

She was a 55-year Spokane resident and was a member of St. Charles Parish and St. Teresa’s Guild.

Her husband, Paul, died in 1987.

She is survived by a son, Jack of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a daughter, Bonnie Jean Cole of Spokane; a brother, Leonard Budig of Spokane; a sister, Josephine Kaniut of Oxnard, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Eastern Washington Chapter.

August Weber Spokane

Burial for August Weber, 93, was Wednesday at Fairmount Memorial Park.

Mr. Weber, who was born in Biberach Riss, Germany, died Sunday.

He worked as a steamfitter in the plumbing industry and moved to Spokane in 1943.

He was a member of the Eagles Lodge, Plumbers and Fitters Union Local 44 and the United Association.

His wife, Dora, died in 1968.

Survivors include a son, Douglas Weber of Spokane.
