Dear Heloise: Recently, by accident, I purchased face powder a shade too dark. Being a thrifty soul, I decided to try adding cornstarch to lighten the color. It worked just fine and I have twice the powder. I just might do this again, on purpose! - H.V.P., Hutchinson, Kan.
