Meeting To Discuss Precinct Boundaries

A public meeting to discuss election precinct boundaries in Kootenai County is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Post Falls Oddfellows Hall.

County election officials are recommending substantial boundary changes for precincts 1, 2, 3, 37, 38, 44 and 47. Post Falls citizens could be affected in these changes, which are planned to shorten driving distances to some polling places and otherwise improve convenience.

Other proposed changes include a new polling place for precinct 3 in Bayview and a new precinct on the east end of Lake Coeur d’Alene at the Eastside Fire Station.

Maps of the changes will be available at the meeting. Any new boundaries and precincts must be approved by the Board of Commissioners prior to Jan. 15, 1998.
