Drowning Victims From Lewiston, Clarkston

Authorities have identified two men who drowned in the Clearwater River Saturday.

Marvin S. Marcell, 40, of Lewiston, and William Van Thiel, 46, of Clarkston, Wash., drowned in the river, Clearwater County Sheriff Nick Albers said Sunday.

The two men reportedly were thrown from a boat before noon and their bodies discovered floating in the river east of Peck. Both were taken to Clearwater Valley Hospital in Orofino, where they were pronounced dead.
