Thompson Helps Do In Texas

Alicia Thompson scored a career-high 47 points Wednesday night, the most since Sheryl Swoopes’ playing days, and No. 14 Texas Tech rumbled to a 96-73 women’s basketball victory over No. 8 Texas at Lubbock.

Thompson fueled Texas Tech (14-5, 6-3 Big 12) throughout. She scored 20 of the Raiders’ first 28 points, and her 26 at halftime matched the team total for the Longhorns (15-4, 7-2), who trailed 37-26 at the break.
