Laney Cox Bonners Ferry, Idaho

Service for Laney N. Cox, 83, was held Friday at the Bonners Ferry Funeral Home. Internment followed at Grandview Cemetery in Bonners Ferry.

Mrs. Cox, who was born in South Carolina, died Monday.

She grew up and received her education in South Carolina, later working for J.B. Whites for several years.

She went on to work as a secretary at Fort Gordon, Ga., for 15 years before moving to New Jersey in 1960.

Mrs. Cox retired and returned to South Carolina in 1980, moving to Bonners Ferry in 1983.

She was preceded in death by two husbands: L.P. Raines in 1935 and Lamar Cox in 1983.

Survivors include a son, Doug Cox of Coeur d’Alene; a daughter, Betty Mackey of Bonners Ferry; a sister, Zelda Kuhn of Georgia; a brother, Jake Newsome of Las Vegas, Nev.; five grandchildren, Kelli Jo, Tom, Don, Michael and Barton; and four great-grandchildren, Ashley, Thomas, Courtney and Lisa.

Memorials may be made to the Fry Healthcare Foundation in Bonners Ferry.

Lowell Isaksen Lewiston

Memorial service for Lowell Isaksen, 86, will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Genesee, Idaho. Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home in Lewiston is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Isaksen, who was born in Rathdrum, Idaho, died Wednesday.

He graduated from the University of Idaho.

He lived in Spokane from 1946 to 1987 and was a district supervisor for the Agriculture Conservation Program. He retired in 1973.

His wife, Katherine (Zimmerman) Isaksen, died in 1987.

Mr. Isaksen is survived by a daughter, Sharon Evans of Lewiston.
