A former Notre Dame assistant football coach filed a federal lawsuit, accusing coach Bob Davie and the university of age discrimination and defamation.

Joe Moore, 65, claims that on Dec. 2 Davie told him he was “too old to coach.”

The university claimed Moore had been fired for failing to meet the standards of Davie and Notre Dame and for intimidating and making offensive remarks to players.
