Millionaire thoroughbred Sandpit won the $159,000 San Marcos Handicap as one of four winners for jockey Corey Nakatani at Santa Anita.

Sandpit pulled away in the late going to win the 1-mile turf race by 1-1/2 lengths over River Deep. The 8-year-old gelding raised his career earnings to $2,732,301.
