Despite a fourth-place finish, Americans Chris Thorpe and Gordy Sheer widened their lead in the World Cup doubles luge standings.

The Italian team of Kurt Brugger and Wilfried Huber, 1994 Olympic gold medalists, captured their first World Cup win of the season.

Thorpe and Sheer have 165 points to 140 for an Italian pair.
