Irvin To Announce Future

Compiled From Wire Services

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin has decided about his playing future and intends to announce it before the July 18 start of training camp, his attorney said.

What that decision is, Peter Ginsberg isn’t saying.

“I can’t tell you which way he’s going with it,” said Ginsberg, a Washington, D.C., attorney representing Irvin and Cowboys tackle Erik Williams in their lawsuits against KXAS-TV (Channel 5) and the Dallas Police Department.

“All I can say is that he’ll make it known in the next week to week and a half. He wants to do it before training camp because he loves his teammates,” Ginsberg said.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Monday the club spoke to Irvin Saturday and is confident the five-time Pro Bowl selection will return to football.
