Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: I keep an “action” file going all the time. It contains such items as correspondence that needs an answer, recipes not yet tried, a note or a phone call I need to make and, especially, notes on anything I have ordered through the mail that has not arrived. (Previously, I ordered mailing labels which never came, and although I had my canceled check, I had no address or phone number to contact the company.)

During the first week of each month or on days when I have a few minutes to spare, I pull out the file and try to make a few phone calls, write a letter or do something useful instead of wondering, “What do I need to do today?” Cathy Cavin, Lubbock, Texas xxxx
