Hamed Must Defend Ibf Title
Prince Naseem Hamed must defend his International Boxing Federation title in his next fight, delaying his chance to unify the four featherweight belts.
Hamed has been ordered by the IBF to fight its leading contender, Mexico’s Hector Lizarraga, by Aug. 8.
Bernard Hopkins (32-2-1) retained his IBF middleweight title, stopping No. 1 challenger Glen Johnson (32-1) by a technical knockout at 1:23 of the 11th round in Indio, Calif.
