Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: We all know someone with a roof rack on their car who has driven into the garage as bicycles standing upright get crushed or crush the roof of the car and the top of the garage. It’s easy to forget what you can’t see!

After I learned my lesson the hard way, I decided to put the remote control for my electric garage door opener in the trunk right after I placed the bicycles on the car.

That way when I return from my trip and subconsciously reach for the remote, I am forced to get out of my car, which is a foolproof reminder of the bicycles on the roof! - Doug Sommer, Colorado Springs

Wonderful idea! Your hint just may save some accidents from happening. Cycle into this column anytime. Thanks for sharing. - Heloise
