College basketball
Hiwassee College’s first choice for a new men’s basketball coach isn’t North Idaho College assistant Mark White.
The selection committee at the Madisonville, Tenn., junior college recommended one of the three finalists other than White, Hiwassee administrator Jim Murrell said. The job hasn’t been officially offered yet, however, he added.
White was interviewed Thursday. “I can’t believe it,” said NIC head coach Hugh Watson, the former Hiwassee head coach.
