Female Boxer Ends Rift With Promoter Don King, Signs Contract

Associated Press

Christy Martin is done feuding with Don King and will fight for the promoter under a three-year contract reportedly worth a minimum of $1.5 million.

Martin will fight Dora Weber in a six-round bout on the undercard of the Evander Holyfield-Mike Tyson WBA heavyweight title fight June 28 in Las Vegas.

Martin and King had been in a dispute over a Jan. 11 fight in which King cancelled the bout when he said the boxer had a mouth injury. She denied the injury. King apparently was upset Martin did not show up to promote the fight.
