Hints From Heloise
Dear Readers: Recently, while doing research for my column that appears in Good Housekeeping magazine, we spoke with several battered women’s shelters across the country. They are in desperate need of children’s, babies’ and women’s clothing.
I’m asking for your help. Why not take the time to clean out your closets and drawers now and donate any clothing that is too small, you won’t wear anymore, or needs a good home.
Please make sure the clothing is clean and in good condition. Don’t pass along something in such bad shape you would be embarrassed to be seen in it.
Also needed are things like blankets, baby formula, diapers and toiletries, such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, soap and razors. All would be greatly appreciated.
Every little bit helps and it always feels good to give when you can. - Hugs, Heloise and Office: Angie, Janie, Joyce, Kelly, Ruth
P.S. With summer here, shorts, T-shirts and swimsuits are really in short supply. Open your hearts and your closets!
