Faldo Grabs Lead

Three-time Masters and British Open champion Nick Faldo, playing like he’s near the top of his game again, shot a 3-under-par 68 to take the Nissan Open lead in Los Angeles.

Faldo was at 9-under through three rounds at Riviera Country Club. One shot behind him were Craig Stadler and Scott McCarron.

Karrie Webb holds a four-shot lead with a 54-hole total of 201 going into today’s final round of the $650,000 Alpine Australian Ladies Masters at Gold Coast, Australia.

In Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Ian Woosnam took the lead at the Dubai Classic when he shot his second straight 67 for a three-rounds total of 203, one stroke ahead of Germany’s Bernhard Langer and Australian left-hander Richard Green.
