‘Lovin’ Feeling’ Most-Performed Song

The Hollywood Reporter

“You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’ ” has been played on radio and television for the 7 millionth time, making it the most-performed song in BMI’s repertoire.

The tally includes all recordings of “Lovin’ Feelin’,” led by the classic Spector-produced Righteous Brothers version that went to No. 1 in 1965. Dionne Warwick’s remake made it to No. 16 in 1969, and Hall and Oates’ rendition hit No. 12 in 1980. Other versions include Elvis Presley’s and a duet by Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway.

In passing the 7 million mark, “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’ ” overtook John Lennon and Paul McCartney’s “Yesterday,” which had been the most-played BMI song for more than a decade.
