Three Finalists Named For UI Post
The three finalists for the University of Idaho provost position will interview at sites throughout Idaho in late-March and early April.
“The pool of candidates was superb,” University of Idaho President Bob Hoover said.
About 75 candidates applied for the position. A search committee then trimmed a pool of 18 semifinalists to three finalists.
One of the three finalists is Loren Crabtree, a history professor and the dean of the College of Liberal Arts at Colorado State University. Crabtree has been at Colorado State since 1967. He also served as administrative dean at the University of Pittsburgh.
Brian Pitcher is another applicant for the position. He is the dean of the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences at Utah State University. He has worked at Utah State since 1978 in a variety of capacities, including associate provost and director of International Education.
Risa Palm also is a finalist. Palm is the dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and a professor of geography at the University of Oregon. She has been at the University of Oregon for five years and has been the associate vice chancellor for research and dean of the Graduate School.
