Bermuda’s Premier, 57, Quits Post
Even legislators from his own party expressed surprise Thursday at Premier David Saul’s decision to make way for “someone younger” and, more importantly, more popular.
Saul, 57, announced his resignation Wednesday, saying he was also giving up his seat in the House of Assembly of this British colony.
The party has a week to choose a new leader. Leading contenders are Jerome Dill, the deputy premier and education minister, and Environment Minister Pamela Gordon.
