Levy Election Today

Tue., March 25, 1997

The Post Falls School District will ask voters to approve a supplemental levy today.

The additional $500,000 a year for the next two years would be used for school maintenance, school buses, textbooks and curriculum improvements.

Polls are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at six places: Post Falls High School; New Vision Alternative School; Ponderosa, Prairie View and Seltice elementary schools; and the Pleasant View Community Center.

The levy needs a simple majority to pass. Even if it does, property taxes in the district will decrease, according to school officials. That’s because the total assessed value of property in the district has increased, causing individual tax bills to go down.
