Russians Knot U.S.

A late goal by Alexei Morozov gave Russia a 1-1 tie with the United States and further damaged the Americans’ chance of making the finals of the World Hockey Championships.

The tie pushed the Americans deeper into the standings of the six-nation medal rounds. With two rounds played, the U.S. has three points, compared with Russia’s five and Canada’s four.

Jeff Friesen scored with less than 4 minutes remaining to give Canada a 1-0 victory over Finland.
