Douglas White Jr. Pinehurst, Idaho

Memorial service for Douglas J. White Jr., 66, will be held at a later date. Shoshone Funeral service in Kellogg is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. White, who was born in New York, died Monday.

He had served in the Army during the Korean War and had lived in Walla Walla, before moving to the Silver Valley in 1962.

Mr. White worked for the city of Kellogg Street Department until retiring and was a member of the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Posse for more than 25 years.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Betty; two sons, Douglas White of Kentucky and Gregory White of Kellogg; two daughters, Kathy Shell of California and Debra Shell of Utah; two brothers, Robert White of Kennewick, and David White of Oregon; three sisters, Donna Birkholtz and Yvonne Warner, both of Walla Walla, and Coralie Boucher of Pasco; eight grandchildren and a great-grandson.

Joyce Snyder Pinehurst, Idaho

Private family service for Joyce S. Snyder, 72, will be held at a later date. Shoshone Funeral Service in Kellogg is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Snyder, who was born in Michigan, died Monday.

She moved to North Idaho in 1968 from Michigan and was a mother and homemaker.

She married Lawrence “Swede” Snyder in Michigan in 1952.

Survivors include her husband of 45 years; a daughter, Pat Nearing of Pinehurst; four sons, Stephen Clark of Kellogg, Michael Snyder of Prichard, Idaho, William Robins of Kingston, Idaho, and Russell West of Wisconsin; a brother, Keith West of Michigan; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mary (Krasselt) Courser Spokane

Vigil service for Mary Edna (Krasselt) Courser was Tuesday at Hennessey Valley Funeral Home. Burial was Wednesday at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Born in Cora, Idaho, Mrs. Courser, died Saturday. She was 86.

She had worked as a seamstress, and she and her husband, Richard, spent 13 years in Yuma, Ariz., after retirement.

Her husband of 56 years, died in 1993.

Mrs. Courser was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and was active in Project Joy.

She is survived by a son, Jerry Courser of Greenacres; two daughters, Kay Elliott of Deer Park and Karen McBride of Spokane; a sister, Martha McLain of Clarkston, Wash.; a brother, Everett “Guy” Krasselt of Potlatch, Idaho; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Joanne Casey Spokane

Funeral Mass for Joanne M. Casey, 59, was held Tuesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Mrs. Casey, who was born in Dickinson, N.D., died Thursday.

She had lived in Spokane for 50 years and was a self-employed care giver.

Survivors include four sons, Raymond Piper, Michael and Patrick Casey, and Richard Tillett, all of Spokane; four daughters, Theresa Marsh of Hayden Lake, Idaho, Kathleen Casey of Spokane, Nicole Quaale of Newman Lake and Dawn Wood of Kalispell, Mont.; a brother, Frank Schutz of Republic, Wash.; and 15 grandchildren.

Charles ‘CB’ Jones Lewiston

Visitation for Charles Byron “CB” Jones is scheduled from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Kimball Funeral Home in Pullman. Service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Pullman City Cemetery.

Mr. Jones, who was born in Berkeley, Calif., died Saturday. He was 85.

He graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and operated an electrical business in California for several years.

In 1941 married Marion McVeigh in Spokane.

He served in the Army during World War II and was stationed in Everett. The family later moved to Boston and he did radar research and electrical engineering for the military at Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

He was honorably discharged from the Army, and in 1946 they moved to Pullman, where Mr. Jones worked as a purchasing agent for Washington State University. He retired in 1972.

He also operated a television and appliance repair service and helped build the family home and several apartments in Pullman.

Mr. Jones was a member of the Kiwanis Club and Emmanuel Baptist Church in Pullman.

In 1993 they moved to Lewiston.

His wife died in 1996.

Mr. Jones is survived by four sons, Richard Jones of Seattle, Thomas Jones of Pullman, Henry Jones of Sherwood, Ore., and William Jones of Bainbridge Island, Wash.; two daughters, Juliet Rabine of Seattle and Mary Gilmore of Spokane; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Roy Zinter Diamond Lake, Wash.

Private service for Roy V. Zinter, 71, was held. Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Zinter, who was born in Sandpoint, died May 17.

He grew up in Sandpoint and graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1944. He served with the Navy in the Pacific Theater and China during World War II.

He went on to work at Farragut Naval Station before following heavy construction jobs throughout the Northwest.

He later moved to Diamond Lake, Wash.

Survivors include a brother, Bill Zinter of Oregon.

Marlin ‘Marley’ Eldredge Spokane

Service for Marlin “Marley” L. Eldredge was Wednesday at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Burial will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.

Mr. Eldredge, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Saturday. He was 62.

He graduated from Rogers High School and served in the Naval Reserve as a mineman 3rd class and in the Navy for two years.

He worked for his father’s Hertz U-Drive Rental Car Agency while still in high school. In 1956 he went to work for The Spokesman-Review/Spokane Chronicle, retiring in 1994 as an engraver.

He was a member of the Spokane Club.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene; his mother, Rutheen Eldredge of Coeur d’Alene; a daughter, Marlo Gerber of Post Falls; and his stepchildren, Brett, Bart and Yancey Eldredge, Ron Brooks, Denise Masiello, and Chris Kittilson, all of Spokane, and Erik Kittilson of Seattle.

Bernice Christopher Moscow, Idaho

Viewing for Bernice Christopher, 92, will be held today from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Short’s Funeral Chapel in Moscow. Service will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Albion (Wash.) Community Church in Albion, Wash. Burial will follow at the Colfax (Wash.) Cemetery.

Mrs. Christopher, a former longtime Albion resident, died Monday.

She was born in Albion and graduated from high school there.

She farmed near Albion and moved into Albion in 1933.

She moved to Moscow 10 years ago to be near family.

In 1925 she married Peter Christopher in Moscow. He died in 1987.

Mrs. Christopher was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Albion Community Church.

Survivors include two sons, Kevin Christopher of Moscow and Melvin Christopher of Plummer, Idaho; a sister, Grace Wayne of Tacoma; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Bernard Rasor Medimont, Idaho

Service for Bernard N. Rasor, 90, will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the Harrison Community Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Harrison City Cemetery. Yates-Hodge Funeral Home in St. Maries is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Rasor, who was born in Medimont, died Sunday.

He grew up in Medimont and worked as a dairy farmer and logger and drove a school bus.

He built the Valley Mart store in Medimont in 1966 and sold the store in 1971 and retired.

In 1936 he married Grace Waters. She died in 1957.

He married Ellen Markings in 1958.

Mr. Rasor was a member of the Harrison Community Baptist Church and a charter member of the Medicine Mountain Grange.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Doug Rasor of Coeur d’Alene and Terry Rasor of California; a stepdaughter, Joanne Robinson of Olympia; a brother, Neil Rasor of Medimont; three sisters, Sylvia Charest of Spokane, Frances Shinn of Caldwell, Idaho and Alice Burmeister of Medimont; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Gordon Reid Spokane

Visitation for Gordon Reid, 84, is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Riplinger Funeral Home. Service will be held in Burr Oaks, Iowa. Burial will be at the Burr Oaks Cemetery.

Mr. Reid, who was born in Saskatchewan, died Monday.

He had worked as a diesel mechanic and was a 17-year Spokane resident.

Survivors include a daughter, Betty Carolan of Spokane; two sons, Bob Reid of Spokane and Bill Reid of Bend, Ore.; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Shirley Wilcox Spokane

Private entombment will be held for Shirley G. Wilcox, 74, at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wilcox, who was 50-year Spokane resident, died Friday. She was born in Laramie, Wyo.

She had worked as an administrative secretary at Eastern Washington University. She retired in 1984.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Wilcox.

Mrs. Wilcox is survived by two daughters, Sheri Young of Spokane and Sandra Campbell of Portland; and two grandchildren.

Anna Lindgren Spokane

Graveside service for Anna Lindgren, 96, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Riverside Memorial Park. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Lindgren, who was born in Denmark, died Saturday.

In 1903 her family moved to the United States.

She married Walter Lindgren in 1920 and had worked as a banquet waitress at the Davenport Hotel. She later worked for City Dye Cleaners.

In the 1950s she and her husband managed the Regal Arms Apartments. Mrs. Lindgren had also worked as a private housekeeper.

She was a member of the Lutheran church.

Her husband died in 1971.

Mrs. Lindgren is survived by two sisters, Mildred Killingworth and Betty Lindmark, both of West Seattle, Wash.; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Elmer Clausen Spokane

Memorial service for Elmer G. Clausen, 75, will be at 11 a.m. todayat Gethsemane Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Fairmount Memorial Park. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Clausen, who died Sunday, was born in Walla Walla.

He served in the Army during World War II and later worked as a home building contractor. He also built several churches in the area.

Mr. Clausen was a member of the American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Clara; three sons, Mark, Robert and Carl Clausen, all of Spokane; a daughter, Susan Hendrickson of Rockford; two sisters, Velma Eacker and Irene Beeson, both of Spokane; and seven grandchildren.

Mary Kuntz Four Lakes

Service for Mary C. Kuntz, 94, was Tuesday at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Burial was at Fairmount Memorial Park.

Mrs. Kuntz, who was born in Spokane, died Friday.

She was a longtime resident of Four Lakes and was a homemaker.

Her husband, Perry Kuntz, died in 1966.

She is survived by a daughter, Stella Schuldt of Spokane; five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

William Lane Spokane

Mass for William B. “Bill” Lane was Tuesday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Burial was at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mr. Lane, who was born in Alameda, Calif., died Friday. He was 78.

He served in the Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theater during World War II and was a longtime Spokane resident.

He worked as a jeweler and watchmaker in the Garland area for 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Bernice.

Mr. Lane is survived by two sons, Ron Lane of Puyallup, Wash., and Bill Lane Jr. of Spokane; a sister, Sister Dismaria Lane of Beaverton, Ore.; and three grandchildren.
