Yanic Perreault’s three goals led the visiting Los Angeles Kings to a 5-1 win Friday night over Detroit, snapping the Red Wings’ six-game unbeaten streak.
Vladimir Tsyplakov added three assists for the Kings, who also stopped Detroit’s four-game winning streak with their first win in Joe Louis Arena since March 29, 1993.
Perreault scored twice in the second period as Los Angeles opened a 4-1 lead before adding his third goal early in the third. It was the first hat trick of his career.

In Landover, Md., Olaf Kolzig stopped 37 shots and the Washington Capitals rallied from a two-goal deficit to tie the Philadelphia Flyers 2-2.
Ron Hextall had 30 saves and John LeClair got his league-leading 11th goal for the Flyers, who led 2-0 before Washington responded with second-period goals by Steve Konowalchuk and Calle Johansson.
The Flyers went 0 for 5 on the power play to extend their streak to 0 for 22 over four games.
In Greensboro, N.C., Jason Dawe scored with 1:39 left in overtime as the Buffalo Sabres snapped their seven-game road winless streak with a 3-2 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes.
