Deq Looking For Water Panel Members

From Staff And Wire Reports

The Idaho Division of Environmental Quality is looking for Idaho residents interested in serving on an advisory committee to guide decisions concerning drinking water.

A recent amendment to the Safe Drinking Water Act charges states to conduct assessments of all public water systems within their borders.

The assessment includes developing a process for identifying sources for drinking water, creating an inventory of existing and potential sources of contamination, and informing the public about water quality issues that may affect their drinking water supplies.

Committee members will meet monthly in Boise beginning in January for a year, and will have to pay their own expenses.
