Isiah Thomas, the former Toronto Raptors general manager who resigned last week, has been hired by NBC as the lead analyst on the network’s NBA telecasts, replacing Matt Guokas.

Thomas will be teamed with Bob Costas, who was appointed as the lead play-by-play man. Costas replaces Marv Albert, who had been NBC’s voice of the NBA for seven years before being fired last month after pleading guilty to assault charges.
