Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: Always keep your plastic pot scrubber in your dishwasher (push it down over the top rack partition). It’s out of the way, handy to get at and, most of all, it stays clean. Diane, Minot, N.D.

Good idea. Just be sure that it is securely fastened so that it can’t get down to the bottom and cause problems with your dishwasher. - Heloise

Dear Readers: Here are two good hints from Mardelle Brown of Redfield, S.D.:

1. Tissue boxes are a perfect size to store cassette tapes. Trim the opening to fit. Even the cube shapes work when they are trimmed down, either standing or lying flat.

2. When I cook for holidays or reunions, I put all the recipes I plan to use on cards and stick them to the front of the cabinet door with double-sided tape. As each thing is finished I return the card to the file. Whee! Love it when the door is bare.
