George Czarnowski scored in the 17th minute of overtime, giving Seattle University a 2-1 victory over Rockhurst (Mo.) College in the NAIA men’s soccer championship game at Birmingham, Ala.

Christine Harrington’s overtime goal led undefeated Mobile to a 2-1 victory over Simon Fraser in the NAIA women’s soccer final at San Antonio.

Dutchman Ids Postma broke the week-old record in the men’s 1,500 meters with a clocking of 1 minute, 49.81 seconds, in World Cup speedskating at Berlin.

Edgar Prado, who leads North American jockeys in victories this year, added five more at Laurel in Baltimore to finish the day one short of 500 for the year.
