Colbert With Winners

Compiled From Wire Services

Jim Colbert, playing his first competitive round since surgery for prostate cancer in June, made three birdies and teamed with Nick Price and Kelly Robbins to win the Gillette Tour Challenge in Bermuda.

The winning team shot an 11-under 59 on the Mid Ocean Golf Club in the best-ball format involving eight teams made up of one player each from the LPGA, PGA and Senior PGA tours. The winners split the $450,000 first prize.

Ernie Els will open his bid for a fourth straight World Match Play Championship against the winner of a first-round match between European Ryder Cup teammates Ian Woosnam and Jesper Parnevik. Els has a bye for Thursday’s first round in Virginia Water, England.
