Nbc Regroups For Wednesdays

The Hollywood Reporter

NBC has canceled “Built to Last” and pulled “The Tony Danza Show” off its schedule after their disastrous ratings performances Wednesday night.

The network will substitute other programming in the Wednesday 8-9 p.m. hour through the November sweeps period, an NBC rep said. Danza’s show will come back in December, though not in the Wednesday 8 p.m. half-hour. One source reported that NBC is contemplating another “Dateline” for the Wednesday 8 p.m. hour for the short term.

NBC had a ghastly night Wednesday; at 8 p.m., “The Tony Danza Show” barely escaped a fifth-place finish by inching ahead of the WB’s “Sister, Sister.” After that, “Built to Last” finished sixth nationally in its 8:30 p.m. slot.
