David Mooney Receives Scholarship From Csu

David Mooney, a graduate of Mead High School, received a $1,500 scholarship from Colorado State University, where he is majoring in civil engineering. He is the son of Michael and Cecelia Mooney, Mead.

The following is a list of Spokane students who graduated from Evergreen State College in Olympia.

The students and their parents are:

Christine Apodaca, daughter of Lorraine Sellers.

Christine Chumley, daughter of Larry and Jacqueline Hone.

Dawn Dearmin, daughter of Richard and Lynda Dearmin.

Chad Johnson, son of Lyndon Johnson.

Matthew Kunze, son of Dick and MaryLee Kunze.

Lesanne Martin-Stewart, daughter of George and Marie Stewart.

Lara Miller, daughter of Donald Miller.

Douglas Morical, son of Nick Morical and Judy Clemons.

Wayne Mostad, son of Roy and Liz Mostad.

Cameron Newell, son of Dian Newell.

Brett Sharman, son of Ed and Linda Sharman.

Angie Johnson, Spokane, a student at St. Martin’s College in Lacey, Wash., was named to “Who’s Who Among American Students in American Universities and Colleges.”

Several Inland Northwest students graduated in schools across the nation this spring. The following are some of those students:

Carmen Figueroa, Ken Calhoon and David Hodgson, associate degrees in computer-aided drafting technology; and John Broden and John Wind, associate degrees in electronics engineering technology, all from ITT Technical Institute in Spokane.

Deborah Kain, daughter of Michael Kain of Spokane, received her bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Grinnell (Iowa) College.

Tami Buchanan and Briana Grieve, both of Spokane, graduated from Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Ore.

Buchanan received a B.A. in criminology; and Grieve, a B.S. in geography.

Edward Wood, son of Richard and Virginia Wood of Spokane, graduated with a B.A. in economics from Claremont (Calif.) McKenna College.

William Rafferty, son of William and Catherine Rafferty of Spokane, received a bachelor of arts degree in biology with a concentration in cell and molecular biology/ biochemistry from Colby College in Waterville, Maine.

Monica Wilhelm and Laurie Kawabata Metzger, both of Spokane, earned doctorate degrees at the University of Washington School of Medicine.

Wilhelm, a graduate of Mead High School, is the daughter of Roger and Gail Smith.

Metzger, a graduate of Lewis and Clark High School, is the daughter of Jim and Pat Kawabata.
