Ryder Cup Picks On Hold
Seve Ballesteros postponed announcing his two captain’s picks for the European Ryder Cup team until Thursday because of a wrist injury to Miguel Angel Martin.
Martin, who hasn’t played since missing the cut at the British Open in July, has until Wednesday to prove that he’s recovered enough from surgery to play in the Ryder Cup, which begins Sept. 26 at Valderrama, Spain.
Spain’s Jose Maria Olazabal, 11th in the European Ryder Cup standings, would get a place on the team if Martin drops out.
