Ruth Masten Chosen August Employee Of The Month
Ruth Masten, a teacher assistant at Kootenai Medical Center and a Hayden Lake resident, has been chosen as the KMC employee of the month for August.
Masten was chosen by a selection committee for her willingness to help and her loyalty and dedication to quality child care at the KMC Kid’s Day Care Center.
Dylan Linde, a student at Gonzaga Prep High School and son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Linde of Coeur d’Alene, was selected to participate in the 1997 Washington Teen Leadership Program.
The program recognizes outstanding young people in scholastics, athletics, community service and extra curricular school activities, with less than five percent of Washington teens being invited to apply and only 40 percent of the applicants becoming participants.
Participants will engage in various social and recreational activities, educational seminars and leadership events. The three-day event comes to a close with the naming of a male and female Washington’s Outstanding Teen Leaders for 1997. Winners receive $1,000.
Wesley Chim, son of Khen and Angela Chim of Post Falls, has joined the Army as a combat engineer and attended basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.
Chim is a 1997 Post Falls High School graduate.
Larry S. Mabrey, son of Larry and Randi Mabrey, Sagle, has joined the Army as a food services specialist and attended basic training at Fort Sill, Okla.
Steve W. Nordin, son of Robert and Deborah Nordin, Sagle, has joined the Army as a wheel vehicle repairer and attended basic training at Fort Sill, Okla.
Nordin, a 1992 graduate of Central Valley High School in Spokane, qualifies for a $3,000 cash incentive due to his test scores and enlistment choice.
