Gracias, Senora

Inez Alconr

Our Everyday Hero is Senora Inez Alcorn who lives in St. Maries, Idaho. For 10 years, Senora has been teaching Spanish once a week to second graders at Heyburn Elementary.

Senora doesn’t get paid because she is a volunteer. She just likes children and she likes what she does. She is very nice.

Spanish is fun because we get to play games like bingo, Twister and Concentration. We put puzzles together that have Spanish words on them. Sometimes we sing songs. We know “Cumpleanos Feliz,” which is the “Happy Birthday” song. We also learned “Head, shoulders, knees and toes” in Spanish. You sing, “Cabesa, hombros, piernas, pies.”

Senora does a good job every week and that is why she is our Everyday Hero. Gracias, Senora!
